The Bakehouse is that “home-baked pie” feeling. From the moment you step inside, you can smell the fresh-baked crust and the sugary warmth coming from our open kitchen. The aromas of seasonal fruits and rich chocolates carry across the pass, and our friendly staff are the cherries on top.
Established in 2022, Bakehouse by Joe Murphy is a culmination of over 30 years in the baking and pastry business. Master pastry chef Joe Murphy is dedicated to creating baked goods that are high quality, but not complicated. The flavors let our fresh ingredients shine, delivering simple goodness in each bite.
Joe was born, raised, and baked in Brooklyn, where he began his career at an early age working at a local bakery. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Joe began working under top chefs like David Burke, Gray Kunz, Alfred Portale, and Jean-Georges Vongeritchen. While working for Jean-Georges, he was awarded Top 10 Pastry Chefs in the country and was recognized with 4 stars in The New York Times and 3 Michelin Stars.
Joe Murphy has become an established international pastry chef, serving as global pastry director for Dean and Deluca. In 2020, Joe competed on Chopped Sweets, became a Chopped Champion, and officially became our very own ‘celebrity’ chef!
Joe now resides in New Jersey with his family, bringing big-city and exquisite pastries to suburbia.
